Sylvester Group: Holding stuff together since 1959

John Sylvester was an ambitious engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit who wanted to leave a mark on the world. He founded John Sylvester Engineering Company Ltd in 1959, which initially made and sold wrought iron gates, then bought and refurbished industrial machinery before moving to sell industrial fasteners and plastics. Together with his brother Arthur, who was also an engineer, they grew their business from one office in Bradford to six covering Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham & London.  Such was their commitment; they continued to work into their 80's. Their mission then, which stands true today, is...."To deliver superior value to customers and employees". This principle still guides our business activities today, and the second generation of the Sylvester family leads the company, supported by an excellent team, many of whom have been with us for decades.
